SAB, btw, is Student Activites Board.. basically they put together most of the student events like Homecoming, Mr. Big Chief, Soda Shop, Dr. Pepper Breaks, etc.. ya.. just.. fyi.. lol..

I am fast growing addicted to checking my mailbox.. my empty mailbox, that is.. *cough* yes.. it isn't like e-mail where I can set it to check itself.. I hafta walk all the way across campus.. but yes.. anyways.. *grins* we have Soda Shop tonight.. the SAB puts it on.. I'm on the SAB, but I'm not helping with this event.. but we get free ice cream and sundaes and banana splits and shakes and junk.. sounds fun.. then we have a dorm meeting.. fire procedures and stuffs.. fun ;P lol.. but yes.. I'm going to go work on.. something productive.. ;) back someday soon..

hey world! I'm home for the weekend.. thought I'd post and update y'all on my life as a freshman..finished my first week of classes.. looks to be a busy semester.. lots of music.. lots of rehearsals and concerts and practices and such.. oh, if any of y'all enjoy classical music.. I'll be going to the symphony (DSO) at least five times this semester.. so if you wish to come along.. I think I can get discounted tickets and junk.. so.. yeah.. give me a ring or something, an we'll work it out ;) All other classes look good.. just busy.. don't think I'll be able to work in the comp lab this semester.. next semester, hopefully.. lol I only know of two other girls who work there right now.. tis all guys.. they give you funny looks if you're a girl who knows what you're talking about.. but yes.. *ahem* anyways.. *grins* overall, havin a good time.. girls in my hall are awesome.. food is icky.. but that's life ;) there's a good coffee shop though.. good frutata's.. frozen coffeeish type things.. *yum* but yes.. oh! just for future reference.. here's my mailing address at school.. just in case you should ever need it.. *grins*

yes.. as I started to say Thursday.. I want to thank my cabbages (that is.. Josh, Sandi, and Evan..) they were awesome.. Sandi organized all my boxes.. then they all got up insanely early to go to donuts with me.. Josh let me load up his suburban with all my junk.. Sandi an Josh helped me load everything.. Evan slept on the couch and provided some sort of moral support.. ;) Then after we got all unloaded, they all helped me arrange my stuff.. Sandi even made my top bunk ;) Josh and Evan helped the girls across the hall with their VCR junk and cause of that, I have two new friends! lol tis all so much fun.. except the showers.. they're also as bad as everyone tells you.. be forewarned ;) but yes.. my cabbages.. thank you SO much.. I could not have done it without you.. I'll see you tomorrow!!! Love you all.. you're the best!

gosh, I've been busy! SO much has happened in the last three days.. I've met about 42 million people.. been to sessions.. learned about college life (and today, I even figured out how to open my mail box! now you have no excuse not to snail mail me.. cause I can actually get it now.. lol..) discovered that cafeteria food is really as bad as they say it is.. ;) I still feel like I'm at camp or something.. altho it felt a little more real when I went to look at my books.. stayed up until 0300 or later this morning with some friends.. we probably kept up the whole floor, we were laughing so hard! got to sleep in again today.. slept in yesterday cause of the rain.. all the morning activities were canceled.. electricity went out too.. so all of our alarms didn't go off anyway.. I'll write more about my room later.. um.. what else.. today (in 30 mins, in fact..) we have our last SWAT session.. then dinner tonight.. then a Glowing Heart Concert.. although I'm not sure how much of that I'm going to stay for.. cause I'm a-goin home!! more to come soon..

woooooohoo! I'm at DBU, all packed in (thanks to mes cabbages.. more on that later..), and busy as a bee with SWAT stuff! Going to the president's house this afternoon.. then we have the Patriot Games tonight!! Go Green Mu!!! All is good.. lots of cool people here.. *waves to the DBU people reading this..* have some awesome people on my floor.. basically just overall having a wonderful time.. God is SO good! hung with the cabbages today.. we went to lunch.. and Fry's.. and overall just had a good time.. went to dance tonight.. we danced long and hard.. was very good.. danced the cobwebs out of my head.. polished some of the tarnish off of my mostly sterling day.. God is gut..

oh! Sarah! I forgot to post about her.. she's very cool! kinda quiet.. but ya.. she's.. 17.. my height (woohoo!).. lives in Rowlett.. church music major.. likes Shane Barnard's music! mm.. that's all I can think of right now.. I'm kinda not all here.. but yes.. I think we'll get along well.. very nice girl..

mm.. some days I dislike being human.. or at least, dislike being an almost-adult human.. children don't realize how easy they have it.. oh sigh.. I'm back on my roller coaster.. I was doing better.. don't know what happened.. pray for me, if you think about it.. (if anyone reads this anymore.. who knows..) things are coming down to the wire with school.. my family is wanting time.. time that I don't have.. my friends want time.. (or I want time..) and tis all.. very draining.. and stressful.. I just want the semester to start.. then all will be well.. it will be different.. but it will be well..

(up, anyway.. has only been wide awake since she had her coffee..) got up early early this morning to go have breakfast.. Talked to Sarah tonight! We're going to dinner Thursday night! I'm very excited.. I can't wait to meet her! She's a church music major too, which is *awesome*.. and she's my age.. only a few weeks difference, I think.. that's about all I know at this point.. shall update y'all Thursday night.. :) Speaking of Sarah.. we move into the dorms in a week :x

I had dance this evening.. twas awesome.. my dad wants me to quit dance cause of school.. he thinks it will put too much pressure on school junk.. (btw.. for those who don't know.. I'm on the sacred dance team at church.. meaning basically.. we worship God through dance.. and we dance at church services every so many weeks (tho less often since the fire cause we have so little space..) and so.. we mostly do.. I guess you'd call it interpretive dance? where we're like telling a story of sorts.. only not really..
tis like a choir.. only dance.. yeah.. that works.. anyways! I've been dancing with them for years, but only recently became officially a member.. and tis like another family.. another prayer support system.. and yes..) but I think I need to stay, first, because God is doing some really awesome things in the group that go right along with what's He's been doing with me personally.. showing me who He really is and showing me how to really worship.. and He's just so much more real to me now.. He's a living being.. and tis just.. awesome and mind boggling and yeah.. but yes.. Tina just got back from a dance conference.. so she's all renewed and on fire and has an *awesome* vision for us now.. and all night, I just had this feeling that I need to be a part of it.. so.. I'm still praying about it.. and thinking of options to stay.. we'll see.. :)

Josh doesn't.. he calls me Adrianne.. which I find hilarious.. seeing as he started the Sophie thing.. but tis also funny when he does call me Phie in real life.. and yes.. so.. that's that story.. lol.. mmk.. I feel kind of like I'm turning the page in the story of my life.. kinda ending the chapter of my childhood and starting a whole new, exciting chapter of almost-adulthood.. it still doesn't quite seem real..

oh! note to my cabbages.. if any of your mothers have doubles of the pictures they took at my recital and/or graduation.. I would love a copy.. I'm working on my senior scrapbook..

wow, lots has happened in the last two weeks.. got back Tuesday from South Carolina.. had some good family time there.. On Wednesday, Josh, Evan, and Mr. Barfield came home from the National Scout Jamboree.. Sandi and I went with Mrs. Barfield and the kids to pick them up.. twas gut.. Thursday, got to hang with my peaches for a few hours.. Sandi left yesterday for Florida.. (miss you terribly, Kat!) took the kids to see Princess Diaries.. twas cute.. *nods* had an VERY awesome time at WIW last night.. three hours of intense prayer and praise & worship.. very awesome thing.. today.. just kinda blubbing.. babysitting later.. cleaning my desk.. getting ready for school..

OH, I just about had a heart attack.. lol.. I've been going through some DBU stuff on the web trying to find various things.. and I came across the dress code.. and it basically said you can't wear shorts to class.. and I about died.. cause that's all I own.. and ever wear.. (those who know me, know these things.. lol..) but.. then it turned out.. I was looking at the 1997 handbook.. and rules have changed.. (as far as I can tell..) and yes.. that's a good thing..
